For More than 30 Years Service in Providing Food Services:
Mary Spohnholz and Wanda Stone

At the 2005 Annual Dinner, Mary Spohnholz and Wanda Stone were honored for  more than 30 years of service to RCC in cooking and directing the food service programs. They underwent training to become certified by the state to be food handlers, and they have worked their magic for thousands of young people and staff with great love and skill. All those present who had served with them in cooking for the camp sessions were also given special recognition and appreciation.

Mary and Wanda were presented with special aprons and received a standing ovation.

Others who have served as Head Cooks include: Ann Beavers, Mabel Carpenter, Reta Herren, Bettye Ray, Deanna King, Louise Holt, Sam Jordan.

          At the meeting, Rockford Christian Camp dedicated a new outside grill to all R.C.C. COOKS AND KITCHEN STAFF.  A plaque of tribute has been placed on the grill which reads:

This grill is

affectionately dedicated

to the Cooks of

Rockford Christian Camp

who have lovingly and selflessly

served God’s children

to His glory.

Their knowledge, wisdom

and training are priceless,

their service admirable,

and their endurance amazing.

May all who sit at their table

praise the Lord in their honor.
